I refuse to stay around

Eventually, you start to realize that people who are holding you hostage to your past, only do so, because they hold themselves hostage to theirs. Frozen in a specific time of their lives, they torture themselves with old thoughts and situations, daily. Their greatest stresses, heaviest weights and struggles are all memories of things that used to be, who people around them were back then, and daydreams of what could have been. Once you begin to understand this, everything else will make sense. You see, those who aren’t evolving in their own minds, moving forward and doing better in their own lives, will never be able to see you as a person who has, and is. Those staying around people who refuse to free themselves, will never be free either, it’s inevitable.
