Excerpt 24 'They always come back!'

So I guess I should have seen this coming. Some people come into our lives to make us realize that. A lot of things have affected him and he exhausted by people, all types too, especially the ones closest to him. I know what it’s like, that is, to have this heavy feeling in your gut, the one that keeps telling you to start over, to pack your things and leave it all behind. We’ve all been there. We’ve all been broken down by people but that doesn’t mean that you need to give up. People are going to let you down, they’re going to have bad days, a lot of them, but the trick is to hold on, no matter how tragic life gets. When it’s over, and he’s searching for someone else to fill that void, he’ll end up looking back and wondering how it happened. You try to puzzle the pieces. Every moment, every exchange, you try to pin point everything to recreate the same kind of love. But it doesn’t happen. Because you can’t find your soul mate in other people’s eyes. You can’t go around thinking you’re going to recreate the same magic – the same magic that we once had.
